Fall Cleaning: A clean and organized Pantry

Today's post has very little to do with How-To and very much to do with simplifying! After all that is why I started blogging. I wanted to one, keep myself accountable by making the process of being "simple" transparent to the world and two, I want to show that attaining simplicity is a process. Sometimes getting there is very hard work, but. Particularly in a small house crammed full of a lot of useless stuff! But in the end the hard work is worth it when you can just kick your feet up and know everything has a place.

Because I was so sick when spring rolled around and spring clean was in high gear, I didn't get to do some of the normal "Spring things." Now that I have my health and part of my sanity, I'm ripping my house apart and tackling those "messy" spots in the house that tend to attract cutter and filth!

Today I'd like to show you my Pantry. Are you ready? It's horrifying!


Isn't that gross! Its a conglomeration of  "Shtuff" and its very embarrassing to show you all this. Unfortunately my pantry is just a catch all for things:








Shockingly horrible isn't it?  I realized I have things in that pantry that have no business being in a pantry. Easy Bake Oven...Really? Time to tackle this mess!

Here's some pantry's that inspire me:




Just to warn you, this is only first phase is my pantry overhaul! I happen to think that pantries deserve to be pretty too, so I have grand plans of paint, baskets and other frills. For now, this is a more organized pantry on my path toward simplicity!


I had a TON of Mason jars, so I used them to neatly store my rice, beans and baking sundries.


Chris says the font looks like a horror film. It's actually called Bleeding Cowboy. I told him I wanted my pantry to look like a country music video.

And that's that! Though it's not the most beautiful pantry. I know where things are and more importantly what I have. Life just got a little simpler!

    Lol the font made me think of Charmed instead of a country music video. Loved it either way. This is how our pantry looked right before we moved out. Don't know when or how it happened, it just did. I plan on over organizing when we move into our new home to avoid a relapse. Maintaining is usually pretty interesting.
