Skirt Purse

Among my circle of friends there is a new addiction. I know what you're thinking, housewives in the suburbs, but no the addiction is not Meth. Actually, they're hand bags. The bags come from a company called Thirty-One Gifts. They sell a range of products from personalized stationary to embroidered purses.

The company is based on Proverbs 31, you know the chapter in proverbs that makes you feel bad about your house-keeping. Just kidding! Actually my very good friend Jessi and senior elder at my church (by the way you should check out her inspirational blog!) Anyway, Jessi says that becoming the Proverbs 31 woman is a life-long process.Whew!!

One of Thirty-One's coolest products, in my opinion, is the skirt purse. This little gem offers you the ability to switch out the purse's fabric cover. It's really nice to have one bag and several covers, rather than twelve purses cramming the closet!

This post is actually not a promo for Thirty-One, though if you have the ability to find a consultant you should check it out! Actually, this post is how I made a cover for my sister's skirt purse.

I'm not going to showcase it in my normal one million picture tutorial, because most people don't even have skirt purses. So, I'll just show you the finished product!

  7. Do you have a pattern for the CITY skirt purse? Cause thats the kind I have and they don't make it anymore... so I have one skirt which totally defeats the purpose of a skirt purse.

  12. I make custom skirts too!! Mine fit both the City purse and the regular purse. And, just to clarify.... I DO NOT HAVE SERVANTS! Someone posted on your comments that I have servants. Well, I named my company Proverbs 31. It is just a hobby, I'm just trying to make a little extra money. My business is going great. I do all my sewing, advertising, shipping and everything myself. Happy sewing!!!

  15. Do you make skirts for the retired ThirtyOne City Skirt Purse? If you do I have several different ideas for new skirts...since they are no longer available throught ThirtyOne. I'd like one in DEMIN and another in HERRINGBONE. It would have been nice to have in a Christmas pattern too. The "Fitted Skirt Purse" just isn't large enough for me...I have both the b;ack and brown purse and lots of skirts - but would really love to have more skirts for my City Skirt Purse. Would appreciate your answering my question. Hope you have a nice Christmas and enjoy the New Year!
