About Me
This blog is an experiment in down-sizing my life. You see, I have to downsize something because the size of my family keeps growing. I have four children and I live in a home that was built in 1860 and back then they had way less in the way of crap. So, here I find myself trying to jam my clutter in a house that was not designed for that sort of excess. The more I cram the more stressed my life has become. Somehow I don't think it was meant to be this way...Am I right?!!! Here's what I have in mind for 2011: get rid of things I don't use, finally find a solution for the paper that piles up on my computer desk and organize, organize, ORGANIZE, and make stuff to pretty things up a bit! If I can do this for a year I might add five years to my life and I plan to use those five years to finally write that book, I've never wanted to write.
I love your blog, and would like to follow it, but I can't see a way to do so. (Maybe I missed something?) Anyway, is there a way to follow you by e-mail? I am too old and ignorant to understand feeds.
ReplyDeleteThanks for a day brightener of a read.

ReplyDeleteI just discovered you via searching for purse skirt sewing pattern. The more cluttered our house becomes, the worse I feel. I discovered what papers I need to keep, started going through everything little by little. I had 2 sons 360 days apart by c-section. We lived in a 600 sq. ft. home. Not much clutter then. Years later, room addition made, now we have too much stuff. I would like to become more self-sufficient by doing crafts. I do ceramics, sewing, leather crafting, and more. This way I can make gifts that are wanted and more importantly needed and not cluttering. LOVE YOUR SITE, on the sewing. Haven't visted the other info yet. Thanks so much. Dayna
ReplyDeletePS: I'd like to email others in this type of endeavoring if possible. Have a great day everyone.

Hi, I found your blog looking for easy roman shades. I love your instructions and, of course, the results. I'm just wondering if you could share a picture of what they look like in the fully retracted position (i.e., pulled as high as they can be). Mine will almost alwyas be positioned like this. Thanks! Amy [abalfe1 "at" hotmail.com]
ReplyDeleteThank you for the pattern. I am confused though when trying to construct it. I sewed the binding to the base along the top. Now I also sew down the side but stop short as to allow for the bottom of the binding to be turned under? I turn it under and iron a hem allowance. Then what? This is where I am lost. Also, to make things worse, I have just found out that the lady I am trying to make this for has the City Purse. I didn't know the difference, but her skirt that she sent to me to look at has separate sides and a bottom piece. From what I just saw on youtube, this is a City Purse. Do you know of anyone that has a City Purse pattern and tutorial? She doesn't want me to deconstruct her skirt, so I am helpless without a pattern to make anything for her.
ReplyDeleteThis pattern would be fantastic for the skirt purses but I cannot seem to get it to print to the right size even after saving to my computer. Can you email me the full size pattern at matilda1517@gmail.com Thanks
