The Bunk Bed Curtain

I remember sharing a room with my sister when I was a child and I remember at some point HATING this arrangement! When I was old enough, I began to want my own room. There are four years in between my sister and I, but four years seems miles apart when you're a kid. By age nine, I'd had enough! I was entering the double digits and she was in Kindergarten. I was way too mature for her...I had a locker at school for goodness sake. Okay, I was sort of a jerk, but I really hated sharing a room. I still hate sharing a room with Chris, but that's mostly because of his piles of dirty laundry and his "Boy" smell.

Its in this spirit of independence that I challenged myself to come up with a way that my sons could live together in the same room even though six years separate them. I think it's really more my hang up than Aden's. He likes being with people, where as I can be more of a loner. I blame it on the creative side of my brain.

So, I set to work on a curtain contraption, but I wanted it to be more than a curtain. I wanted it to be a cozy retreat. So I added a little window. I want him to know what's on the other side of the curtain at all times. I mean, I'm 31 and I still hate the feeling of my feet hanging over the edge of the bed for fear of creatures living under there!!

Alright, that's my husband and I, and it's not really like that. It's probably the other way around.

Yeah, that's more like it!

But I digress. SO I want the poor boy to feel secure and to achieve this I made a window in the curtain. Let me just show you the pictures.
